RoRIS Phase 1 – Romanian River Information System for the Naval Traffic on the Romanian Danube

RoRIS project (Phase 1) aims at the first stage to implement and integrate a pilot system for managing ship traffic on the Danube on several levels: local, regional and national.

Benefits:

• Alignment with European regulations on traffic management.

Business processes:

• Managing  information on the location of ships in real time;

• Managing information on navigation, transported goods, vessel crew;

• Database of vessels and informations about owner, trips, ship history;

• Creating a digital map of the Danube.

System description:

System of analysis and tracking ships:

  • Integrates the information from all sensors (radar, AIS) and creates a tactical image for the current traffic.
  • System includes elements of the electronic map display system (ECDIS) and components of the analysis and tracking of ships system.
  • Modern and open architecture with an unlimited number of sensors and workstations.
  • Workstations characteristics are easily modified to support monitoring and surveillance applications, such as VTS or SAR.

Traffic management system:

  • Reporting ships and dangerous goods:  travel planning, travel supervision, integration with ECDIS application, international standard CCNR;
  • Notices to captains in accordance with the requirements of the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine (standard notification for captain version 1.0) three versions of the translation in English, Romanian and Russian, being functional across all sites in the RoRis system and having wap access;
  • External portal – allows running full series of reports, statistics with the purpose to create databases and to provide simple mechanisms for obtaining informations.

Infrastructure:

  • 22 modern VTS centers on a distance of 1075 km;
  • 4 regional RIS centres;
  • 1 national RIS centre;
  • New towers;
  • GPS stations that cover  over 200 km each;
  • Radars;
  • AIS base stations;
