HDD crisis: only two thirds of total necessary delivered in Q4 2011

In the 4th quarter of 2011, the volume of delivered HDD is around 110-130 million units, according to Digitimes, which represents two thirds of the total necessary HDDs, estimated at 180 million units. Some of the PC’ producers maintain their optimism and hope that the supplier activity will improve in Q 1 2012, while others expect an improvement at the beginning of Q 2 2012. Either way, there is a possibility to have a period between 9 months and 2 years until complete recovery of HDD’production. (CHIP)
